Amazing attention to detail and impeccable style helped mold Shannon and Anthony’s wedding day into a fairy tale.
Shannon and Anthony
While getting ready for her big day I asked Shannon how she and Anthony met. With a smile and a laugh she told me they met while they were coworkers. She said she was trying to stay as far away from his as possible because he was younger and they worked together. It’s safe to say fate had a different idea for the two and eventually Anthony won her heart. In fact, the first time he met Shannon’s mother he actually introduced himself as her future son-in-law!
When Shannon’s grandmother got sick and was in the hospital she quietly told me that Anthony was there for her in every way possible. That was the beginning of their love story and the two soon became inseparable. Friends of the two said that everyone laughed when they announced their engagement because the two already acted like they were married.
Shannon and Anthony got married September 17, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Memphis, TN. As soon as I walked into the church for the rehearsal I was in awe. The sanctuary boats a dome ceiling just above the altar as well as beautiful marble floors, gigantic columns, an amazing organ that sits on the balcony, and breathtaking stained glass windows. It is truly a hidden gem in downtown Memphis.
We spent the early afternoon capturing the details and preparation of the day. The couple chose a very traditional route of waiting until the ceremony to see each other. That didn’t stop them from holding hands and talking to each other around a doorway. The moment Anthony took Shannon’s hand in that hallway he was overcome with emotion and shed a few tears.
The reception was held at The Pink Palace Museum in Memphis. The guests arrived to a cocktail hour where they could munch on food and sip beverages while the bridal party took their formal photos. Shannon and Anthony arrived via a town car and made a grand entrance to their family and friends cheering with love and congratulations. The centerpieces were beautiful flower arrangements and guests happily danced the night away. Shannon had both mother/daughter as well as father/daughter dances and Anthony literally took his mother for a spin around the floor. There was lots of laughter and joy to be shared by all. They ended the evening with a sparkler exit and warm embraces from loved ones. They set off for a Hawaiian honeymoon on Sunday.
