It has been a super busy summer for me and I could not have loved it more! Back in June Jada contacted me about doing some photos for her kids. She has a daughter named Sydney and a son named Colin and both started new schools this year. It was kind of a big deal since Syd started middle school and Colin started kindergarten! I asked Jada what kinds of activities the family enjoyed doing together and she said they were very outdoorsy, like hiking, being near the water, traveling, etc. She said she had seen my trash the dress shoot from this past April and LOVED the water photos, so we decided to start in the woods and end up down by the Wolf River where the kids could splash around and have some fun! They were a bit nervous to start, but they loosened up after a few minutes! I love it when siblings goof around with each other and their abundance of silliness had me cracking up. I met Jada at the Memphis College of Art and knew she had some background in photography, so I brought along an old camera for her daughter to toy around with during the session. After all was said and done I got a text message from her that said Syd asked about Jada’s old Nikon D90 camera and wanted to learn photography. I was so amped about that!!! Here are a few snaps from our time together. We’re reconnecting in November to do a full family session and I am so excited to work with these guys again!
